Growing Mango from Seed – Germination to Week 8 #shorts Have you tried growing mango from seed? This was one of the projects we did when our kids were little. While we can’t grow mangoes here in the Pacific Northwest (too cold), we grow them as houseplants. Did you know that mango leaves can be steeped to make a nutritious tea 🍵? Some enjoy eating the young tender leaves like any other greens. 🌿🥬 ✳️Please always do your own research before eating plants you’re not familiar with, especially if you have food sensitivities and or allergies. It’s advised to consult with your physician. To germinate the seed: ✅ Wash and allow seed coat to dry first. ✅ Wrap seed in a dampened paper towel and place in a plastic bag. The bag wasn’t sealed completely to allow airflow. ✅ Planted in coconut coir combined with 25% worm castings. (I use @vermisterra worm castings, info below)
✅ The seed was covered with about 1/2 inch of potting medium. Thanks for your support and for joining me today! Happy Gardening!💚
